To Winter
winter gathering + retreat + immersive experience:
a time for ritual & remembrance
January 26-29th, 2023
Created with love by Medicine for the Modern Soul
We are calling in 15 beautiful humans (YOU!) to join us January 26-29th, 2023 in NW Montana for an all inclusive 4 day gathering, retreat, and immersive experience for the heart, body, & soul. A time for ritual & remembrance.
If you’ve joined us before, you know the potency + impact these experiences have on our souls. They stir an aliveness in us that we all need in one way or another.
We have created an experience that we wholeheartedly believe in – one that our souls crave – a place to land, to belong, to be seen, to be witnessed, to be regarded, to laugh, to grieve, to breathe, to move, to play, to celebrate, and to be deeply held through one’s expansions and contractions. This is what life is about afterall.
In general, our gatherings + retreats support us to move into deeper intimacy with self, community, and mama Earth (nature) – individually and collectively. You see, we both heal + find our most whole selves in community, in circle, in ceremony, in gathering together to share our humanness. Each time we share our truth with ones who feel safe to us, we gain the capacity to turn the same lens of compassion towards ourselves - integrating all parts of ourselves – living into our humanness more fully.
These experiences hit our hearts a little differently than most. They are a place to explore who you are, and how to belong to yourself so you can find deeper belonging with others – rewriting our stories of connection. They are a place to cultivate trust in yourself, in your path – reminding yourself that, “ I got this, I matter, I am held, I am loved, and my medicine in the world is oh so important.”
For this particular retreat, we’re going a little deeper.
To be honest, Winter retreats in Montana are our favorite. It is a magical + soulful + natural time to gather in community + go inwards. And if you’ve been to Montana (especially to Dancing Spirit Ranch) you know the beauty that this time + place holds.
Think candlelit spaces, a blanket of snow, gathering around fires, all things cozy, outdoor sauna time, quality connection, laidback +luxe cabin vibes, tending to mind + body + soul, and warm nourishing home-cooked meals (with love).
Winter is one of the most important times to tend to self. In primitive times, daily life shifted in the winter – time was spent gathering with community + loved ones, sitting around a fire, sharing stories + ancient wisdom, creating, drumming, singing, hibernating, playing, and sharing nourishing meals. Souls get to be nurtured in the winter and expressed during spring and summer
As the snow falls + our attention inwards, we can find the pause at the bottom of a deep exhale.
Winter invites us to slow down + reflect + store up. May this be a space of collective pause, ease, connection, and recalibration.

Community
We are asking you to join us in a collective shift.
When we surround ourselves with other women who are connecting with their sacred gifts/callings, and honoring their deepest truth, it is safer to peel back the layers and shed the stories that are no longer serving our wise, wild and whole selves.
Each of us holds so much medicine in our cells, our stories, and in our presence. Through this container we are calling in women to reclaim the wise woman and medicine woman in us all. To unlock sacred truths that are deep within our cells. To learn. To heal. To support and celebrate other women. To honor, capture, and embody what it really means to be alive. And to join in sacred community as we navigate the complexities of being human and to heal individual, collective, and generational wounding. One thing we know for sure is that sacred community is the medicine.
Dancing Spirit Ranch is a family owned boutique retreat center and vacation rental. This historical property, located in the incredible beauty of Northwest Montana, is home to a nature sanctuary and a small compound of buildings that offer guests a wide variety of activities and gathering areas. The 100-year-old restored Barn houses a commercial kitchen, large dining room, library and cozy fireside sitting area. This barn is where organic, sustainable, seasonable meals created with love from executive Chefs Ananda Johnson and Taylor Hollandsworth are curated. Beginning in the summer of 2021, Dancing Spirit Ranch officially became farm to table with their very own, craftily created, organic garden.
With more than 350 acres of Montana’s legendary wonderland to explore, the grounds have over 5 miles of walking trails, ponds, and gardens to explore. There are beautifully crafted standing stone sites on the property that draw inspiration from around the world. The owners of this property have created a peaceful oasis that consciously blends the creations of man and nature. The intention behind Dancing Spirit Ranch is to provide guests with a laid back yet luxurious retreat in nature where one can simply reconnect with the stillness and splendor of the elements around them.
Cedar House
This four bedroom, three and a half bath cabin is built on the far shore of the large 14-acre pond. The living room is surrounded by windows on three sides, providing excellent views at any point of your day, and has a brick fireplace to keep things cozy.
The School House
The bell in the tower came from the Midwest, the native wall hangings are baby blankets from Pendleton Woolen Mills, and the gongs that vibrate the room come from Switzerland. This building is the perfect space for movement and circle.
Bunkhouse
This unique, stable-like building is located just steps from the dining area and all major facilities. It has seven bedrooms, four bathrooms and three lounge areas surrounding the central hall with its clerestory ceiling.
This is sure to shake + nourish your soul
We have created something that we wholeheartedly believe in – one that our souls crave – a place to land, to belong, to be seen, to be witnessed, to be regarded, to laugh, to grieve, to breathe, to move, to play, to celebrate, and to be deeply held through one’s expansions and contractions. All of you are welcome here.
The snowy mountains of Montana will hold us as we tend deeply, embrace the darkness, and honor the slower, quieter rhythm of this season in ourselves. The place where life is quietly and beautifully unfolding in the darkness.
We assure you, this is not your average retreat. This is sure to shake + nourish your soul.

(Visionary + Co-steward of Medicine for the Modern Soul | mentor, teacher, guide, ceremonialist | elder in training | fire tender
Tracy navigates this path of being human lovingly + fiercely + wholehearted + fully-human + here –– moving through the world with what she has learned to embody –– her wildness, her feminine, her playfulness, her fierceness, and her wisdom –– landing a little bit more into home, into herself, with each unfolding breath.
She gets to + chooses to be fully human here, honoring life as a wild adventure and sacred ceremony–– connected to nature + the mystery –– knowing in her bones to love herself, her fellow travelers, mama Earth, and this big beautiful world.
Devoted to this life she chooses to live + lead, she shows up with a genuine realness + unmet capacity to hold + be with each layer within each of us individually and the collective –– improvising and moving fluidly, weaving wisdom + depth + experience + presence in a way that shakes our souls –– remaining curious and compassionate, a place to land + be held + be loved + solid ground.
With roots as a wilderness + somatic + soul-centered psychotherapist, mind-body medicine practitioner, embodiment coach, & wilderness + rite of passage guide, she weaves + synthesizes a diverse range of modalities and traditions –– holding the vision for well-community –– guiding us through individual and collective initiatory times.
She will travel with you into, out of, and through deep emotional terrain (with a healthy dose of play + adventure + laughter) — witnessing, holding, guiding, being human alongside you, and inviting us all to live a more sacred + soulful life.
